Density scenarios: comparing yield, revenue, and water at a glance
The crop planner now stacks saved density scenarios into a live chart so you can see when intensifying a bed stops paying back the extra water.
Each saved scenario captures the active tier, crop selection, and the density factor you dialled in. The chart renders yield, revenue, and water side by side per scenario, with the live preview drawn as a dashed bar so you can see what saving will add before committing.
Density compounds non-linearly: above 1.0× we apply a competition penalty so per-plant yield drops as canopies start shading each other. A 1.3× density rarely returns 1.3× yield; the chart makes the curve obvious.
Use scenarios to bracket a decision. Save 80%, 100%, and 120% for the same crop mix, then read off the water cost of the extra revenue. The bars are normalised within the chart so the tallest bar in each metric anchors the scale.
Scenarios are stored locally in the browser. Clear them when you change site or greenhouse footprint — the comparison only holds for one location and one tier at a time.
